Aloud is the beginning of a love story for Laurie and Suzanne. But they don’t know that yet.   All they have to go on – in this first 10 minutes – is their instant and mutual attraction, fight it or second-guess it as they will. The heart wants what it wants, right?

These are the actors who bring the characters to life. Shannon McDonough plays Laurie, who spots Suzanne ahead of her in a coffee shop lineup, and is smitten. But she has the most bumbling pick-up technique ever…

Shannon is a Toronto-based actor, writer, TV producer and director.  Most recently seen onstage in The McComedy Show ~ Channel Surf, her one-woman sketch comedy show in the Toronto Fringe Festival, which was called “hilarious” by the critics. She’s been the host of the world’s most watched LGBT travel series, BUMP! , and as actor, was thrilled to have landed roles on the TV series Hard Rock Medical, Rookie Blue, and the upcoming feature film Spotlight (starring Rachel McAdams and Michael Keaton).  She’s also active behind the scenes, as a series producer on Disaster DIY, director and producer on Sibling Rivalry, and a segment producer and presenter on PinkSixty Plus. Her most recent directorial work can be seen on Cottage Life’s What’s For Sale…With A View.  Shannon is honoured to be a part of this very special film!
